Welcome to Mowbray Lodge No.5373

We are a diverse Lodge with members from all walks of life and all ages. The breadth of youth, experience and cultures makes for a vibrant, fulfilling, and happy experience. We have a strong core of Senior Past Masters and senior members who proactively support our newer members who are keen to learn. We pride ourselves on quality to make for an interesting and fulfilling evening.

We have been members of the Universities Scheme since 2008, opening Freemasonry to Sunderland University, and we have had interest from students, staff, and alumni since then. Former students and staff have now become senior members within the Lodge. Our membership does not however, only come from the Universities Scheme and we welcome all enquiries.

You will find us committed to ensuring that the membership can develop as Masons, in whatever way you choose.

When we meet : First Wednesday, Feb-May & Oct-Dec

Mowbray Lodge at the Sunderland University Freshers Fair

Sunderland University held it’s Freshers Fair on 21st September 2022 and Mowbray Lodge were once again in attendance. On this occasion we were joined by Norma Armstrong and Christine Cromarty from the Order of Women’s Freemasons. The day started at 9am with Rak Bhalla, Octavian Lazin and Martin Lawson setting up the stall in conjunction with Norma and Christine. Students were admitted from 11am and there was a steady stream of interest throughout the day. Obinna joined us at 11am followed by Kristian Brown, Gabriel Petre and Paul Clark who took over for the afternoon shift. All in all, we had a good day and look forward to welcoming students, alumni, and staff from the University into the Craft. If you are interested in joining us or just want to find out more then please use the contact page to do so.
